Meal plan FAQ
Can you drink tea, coffee and water as wanted in between meals?Yes, you can drink black coffee, tea (sugar free) and water at any time, also during the fasting window.Although plainly brewed tea contains virtually no calories, numerous ready-to-drink and flavored tea choices are loaded with hidden sugars. Some Lipton Teas and other teas with flavors like "blueberry muffins" or "caramel" may also contain hidden sugar.We recommend organic tea found in health food stores and in grocery stores such as Yogi, Pukka etc.
Are sugar-free chewing gum and lozenges allowed?You can use sugar-free chewing gum and lozenges if you need it. But everything in moderation!Sugar-free sweeteners can affect reward patterns in the brain, and as long as the brain has access to sweets (even without sugar / carbohydrates) you will not get rid of your sweeth-tooth or cravings.Maltitol and other sweeteners actually affect blood sugar levels just like sugar. These type of sweeteners should be avoided.
Does the meal plan contain any pork?The plan does includes some meals with pork, but they can be replaced with other types of meat or fish if desired.
Can meat be replaced with more fish?Yes, if you want to, you can replace meat with more fish. However, the nutritional content and calorie count of each day is carefully calculated. Therefore, be sure to replace:
- Fatty meats (such as beef) with fatty fish (such as salmon).
- Slightly leaner meats (such as chicken / pork) with slightly leaner fish.

Does the plan contain any dairy products?The diet plan contains very little dairy except for some butter, small amounts of white cheese and occasionally some sour cream which can be replaced with other alternatives from the book.
Who should not try this diet?Individuals who are underweight, pregnant or breastfeeding, under 20 years of age or at risk of developing an eating disorder should not try this diet.Anyone suffering from diabetes or any other serious medical condition should consult their doctor or other qualified healthcare professionals before embarking on extensive dietary or lifestyle changes.
